There is "sell out" as in these guys were cool until they were popular. Then there is "sell out" as in they changed their style of music to conform with what's popular. These guys got both strikes against em. Here's an early kick ass song of theirs

That said, I'd maybe still argue they didn't sell out -- bands are allowed to change their sound, even to a popular sound that will make them huge. They also didn't suck, as much as I'm not a fan of this, it's not terrible.
