There they are! Saw TLC on the 1994 acclaim lists and knew they had to be coming soon.

Crazy 2/10 pretty not crazy
Sexy 7/10 could be more sexy but sexy enough for the content.

Really not a 90s pop person, wow, it's a great deal of sludge. I do like TLC though.

You mean TBoz Left-eye and Chilli? :-) this is a foundational factoid for kids my age. Asked my wife and she also rattled it off.

Interestingly, when the group was formed, TLC stood for Tionne, Lisa, and Crystal, the founding members of the group. Tionne became T-Boz, Lisa became Left Eye, and Crystal Jones left the group and was replaced by Rozonda Thomas. Rozonda assumed the nickname "Chilli" so that TLC still made sense.

I learned this a week or two ago when TLC was first mentioned in this thread. I looked them up and was shocked to learn that Chilli wasn't a founding member, because I had learned that same fact about the group's name.

Honestly didn't realize all these house bands were white European guys with for-hire black women leads, figured they were all part of the American R&B landscape.

Again she gets it totally right, putting the whistle register first. Then instead for the climax she sings from "Genius of Love" pretty much telling the haters (like my teenage self) "Yeah, I know who I'm sampling, I know exactly what I'm doing."

And of course there's the landmark "featuring rapper" remix

A classic! He probably never needs to work again from the revenues of selling that song to commercials.

I just learned it was also the theme song for a Canadian TV prank show hosted by Howie Mandel entitled Howie Do It.

Same! Dunno if I knew she was behind Arrested Development's Tennessee too. I may need to deep dive her stuff at some point.

I wouldn't have been able to name the group behind Tennessee if my life depended on it. However...

"Tennessee" uses a sample from Prince's "Alphabet St." that was not cleared ahead of time. Prince's lawyers waited until after the song sold well and then charged the group $100,000 for the use of said sample. Speech later said he felt Prince gave him "a break" by demanding a single payment instead of co-writing credit on the song, which would have entitled Prince to a share of all royalties in the future.

Thanks Wikipedia!

I'm not in a place to listen to music, and I'm baffled by this one. No recognition yet, but now I'm eager to hear it.

I have to be in the right mood for Blues Travelers. I LOVED this song when I first heard it, but it got so overplayed. It's a twice a year song now.

I kinda like this one. No really. Really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really.

I wrote a song called Really Really that may or may not have been inspired by the absurd use of really in this song

For 1995 #18, they list two songs that only seem to appear in separate videos on youtube (at least based on just a quick and simple search):
