Might be the first song I ever remember liking. I'd look forward to it playing. Certainly the song I loved for the longest time. I played it twice today. I'm still amazed they created such a funky song with changing time signatures, and kids ate it up.

You betcha! One of the great things about Sesame Street generally, like the muppets, Mr. Rogers and other such things, is that they didn't underestimate the capacities of kids. I lived for the moments this would come on. Let's be honest I still live for it:

Imagine being so powerful that you no longer really consider yourself human so the opinions of mere mortals have no value to you. Then what would you wear? There might be a contingent that never leave their bathrobes, like Merlin. But others would go flashy to advertise their superiority.

I have a cardigan, except it has a zipper, that I got from Goodwill. I suspect the original owner died as it is so comfortable that I can't imagine someone giving it up while they're alive.
