For some reason GLOBLE will not share today. Took twelve guesses; I object to, for example, the idea that China is orange if the answer turns out to be Romania. I guess it's based on the number of countries in between but I can't help thinking of it spatially and so it really screws me up the way they color the map.

I find myself not as interested in doing this one anymore because it forces me to think about countries as a sequence instead of spatially and I don't feel like I'm learning about new countries that I have never heard of or forgot where they were on the map? Initially it was a lot of fun to test whether you have them in the right place on your mental map and whether you're forgetting some. Now it's just like... Are you aware of how many countries you'd have to pass through to get to this other country? Blah. The fact that you're getting orange while on multiple different continents is annoying.

I still enjoy this one as much as the octortal (my favorite of all these) because it requires a different kind of thinking and I like the backward reasoning about what must work in those spaces:

This one I like because it's frequently something I don't know. Although it troubles me that when I have known it I wasn't sure I agreed and could find sources that gave a different ranking? But that was a rare outcome. At least you're learning something new.

Revelation: doing Redacted on a computer screen instead of phone!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend. I keep putting in words that don't count toward my guesses, yet I would swear they didn't appear until I tried typing them in. Anyway, this too was an easy one because of prior familiarity with the subject and quick use of a few key terms like 'largest' 'city' and the four cardinal directions.

67, but pissy about this number being so high because way back in the 40s I had guessed a different version of that word, leading to twenty more of its cousins, and it didn't occur to me to put in a different version of the word as -nia instead of just -on as the ending. I will say that the deck has been stacked in my favor on these so far.

Same as Phoebe. I put down the similar word, misspelled, at 36, and spelled correctly at 66. By 70 I had figured I had guessed everything around the subject I knew and did a clue-cheat by checking out this wikipedia article to see if anything jumped out at me, then ping-poinging to the correct answer at 78.

Someday again I'll do it without clues/cheating, maybe a day where I can sit and really think for a few hours. But like yesterday, which once I got to largest city in Nigeria, and my brain went blank, I knew the chances were about even that it'd come to me in about three hours or three months, I figure searching wikipedia for something surrounding that subject instead of taking the loss. Maybe for fairness, I'll cheat / get clues, but not put in the answer once I find it.

Meanwhile, just seconds ago I got an ad on Twitter for "Real Housewives of Lagos" so maybe I'd have figured it out closer to 36 hours.
