Heardle, just barely recognized, the set up did do a good job showing how they cribbed the opening riff from one of the biggest songs ever (which itself stole its riff)
I haven't done it! But tomorrow, say what these songs are!!
Ok .. loading .
Aaahhhgghh someone else did it on my phone so the answer was just there with no game to do. Why.

But which ones were the ones from the other day where the riff was stolen etc? I had no clue.

Oh it was a Foo Fighters song
That opens with a hint of the Stairway riff, which itself was taken from

Ahaaaaaa yes! I would never have made the connection to that Foo Fighters song, but now that you say it, I see why.

Been a while since I played but feel a bit vindicated that a bot has decided the best starting word is the one I always used: slate
Ha, there is great debate about this in the fam. Everyone has a three vowel word and an opinion about why theirs is best. There is great agreement around arise and arose and soare, but I always use saute because I like the T and I think that words tend to fall into groupings where the presence or absence of the U makes a difference. So it's more about the kinds of words that will come up to my mind as a result. It has served me well in every way... When you're doing the octortal it also combines well with other words to give you a good start - depending on my initial results I will go with doily or choir or groin as #2. From that point I just try to solve words only.

Do you have a second or third regular word if you come up empty?
Mine starts with:
SLATE
then
ROUND
usually get a bite by then but if not I guess I should go
WIMPY

Only for the octordle - depending on what type of results come up, after 'saute' I will use doily or choir or groin... For the other ones I just try to solve the word right away. There's always something coming up on the quordle, and if there's nothing on the wordle I just go with the winds.
Oooh I forgot todays octo - this is consistently my favorite of all these games. It's a little more complicated and a little more possible to lose at it, and where it doesn't feel particularly special to get the wordle or the quordle done in three or seven or whatever, it always feels good to get the octortal in 11 and delightful when you get it in 10. Not today but it was a happy day:
I have forgotten what the word was. So I don't know whether this explanation warms my feeling toward it or whether I still don't like it. I can tell you I don't like this rhyming bs either.

Alright game, though no way to lose except to give up or share yet
