So they did do the one called worldle but it is an incomprehensible mix of the verbal and spatial guessing and caused me neural pain to encounter. So I went back to the global one and apparently my gift is making a very first guess out of nowhere for no reason at all:

OK gave up. didn't know / forgot there were two of them with the same name. But I guess they couldn't have been "can you be more specific?" Although I did guess the country's former pre-97 name, so that should've been enough specificity.
That's the thing - I started with the earlier name as well, and I only know the correct one because I happen to have a friend for whom this is a relevant name. My knowledge got there is looking very similar to yours. Can go up and down the sides but get confused about positions in the middle and sequence on the left.
Of the 54 countries in Africa, I missed 17, other than the first non-Congo non-Zaire one, they're all a bit tiny.
Democratic Republic of Congo
Burkina Faso
Senegal
Benini
Togo
Sierra Leone
Eriitrea
Gabon
Lesotho
Guinea-Bissau
Equatorial Guinea
Mauriius
Eswatini
Comoros
Cabo Verde
So Tome and Principe
Seychelles
I should start re-researching the globe, I love/loved maps and would memorize states and countries, but honestly haven't really updated my brain in 20 years.
Cheated to figure out. Back when I was having issues with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, I figured I should just try to see how many countries I could name, and I do well but
I have trouble with
* the tiny countries everywhere, especially the ones near the equator on the Atlantic Ocean for Africa and South Africa. All the ones with Guyana or Guinnea or French Guiana or Guinnea Bissau, and everything in between.
* the tiny islands everywhere
* Former soviet republics that end in "stan" and former republics that were once Yugoslavia. More accurately any country new post-1991.
My new goal is to re-memorize it, but haven't gotten around to looking up these areas until now.
