Trump recently said that to reduce crime, we need just one day when cops were allowed to really cut loose (because that's what's really wrong in our country: too many restrictions on the police). Just one really rough day, he says. After that, word will get around, and there won't be any more problems.

Commentary seems to focus on how Trump is wanting to implement the Purge. But the Purge is about EVERYONE getting to do whatever they want for a day without consequence. What he's suggesting is that it should be just the authorities. What he's really suggesting is Kristallnacht.

And as with all of his really frightening suggestions, he's very sincere about this.

The hell is wrong with these people? We expect him to say all manner of crazy things over the next month but why doesn't anybody who votes for him have a problem with it? If Kamala Harris was like okay folks, once we get elected we're just going to take a day and deal with all these maga people outside the confines of the law, not only would everybody go insane but some of the angriest people rejecting her comments would be her own voters! I mean I'd like it if we could send the whole group to Mars on the first transport but I'm not really proposing it as a realistic plan for next month.

What we really need is about a week where everybody decides to be f****** nice to each other for a change. Take a week and do something that demonstrates how trustworthy and reliable you are even to people who disagree with you.
