I can't believe I've never heard of this before. It's a galaxy. Specifically, it's a ring galaxy (which I didn't know was a thing that existed) with billions of stars in a near perfect circle around that supermassive center. It is slightly smaller than the Milky Way. But coolest of all, if you look inside the ring at 12 o'clock, you can see a second, more distant ring galaxy.
How cool!
