Small talk about the weather

Post by Mike »

Tornadoes. On the ground. In December.

I've been sitting on the floor in the hall at work for over an hour. We have 15 minutes left (so far).
Any time the solution is "banjo rifle", I'm in 100%.

Oof.

It's 66 degrees in southern Wisconsin on December 15, and we're supposed to get winds of up to 80 mph overnight.

Yeah... It was 65 here, and now that the first front of this system passed over us, it's 55 and on it's way down.

Be careful in Wisconsin; this weather isn't playing and isn't losing its energies.

Last night's windstorm knocked over the portapotty that was being used by the contractors working on our kitchen/bathroom remodel. It's now lying half in the street. It loosened our mailbox post on the way down, so I might have to shore that up a bit, but thankfully it's sturdy enough that we won't have to replace it. And I'm sure there's quite a bit of stuff that USED to be in the dumpster in our front yard that is now somewhere in someones yard several blocks away.

We had a tree fall on our shed over the weekend, and it's still there, just hanging out on its roof. The shed is old and we're fine with the damage, it's just a shed, but because it's enclosed we had to add it to our home insurance, they wouldn't allow us not to. It's like insured for some crazy amount -- anywho, now we're like well we just leave the damage as is, OR we can demand restitution because if we have to pay extra for it, we might as well get the perks that go along with it. Fix our shed we didn't want insured but you made us insure, insurance company!

Or will the paperwork make it not worth it. shrug!

Or take the payout and tear down the shed instead. If that's an option.

Take the money and make a covered hot tub deck.

Typically in a home owners' policy (unlike an auto policy) you can't get payment until you've verified for them that the work was done.

This is why they need to put a hot tub in their shed!
