New Team Mascot

You need to come up with a new mascot for your school or sportsball team or whatever. What do you choose?

I come from a long line of crappy mascots, starting with the Papillion Monarchs, which was originally just a monarch butterfly, but no one wanted that on their merch, so they changed it into a crappy cartoon king. Gross. Then were the problematic Bellevue Chieftains (still the name). And of course the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Which is stupid, and sadly a worse mascot than the original Nebraska Bugeaters, which was also stupid. But when you choose a mascot, you want something badass, but also unique (because things like Eagles and Bulldogs and Tigers are a dime a dozen).

So I think about this once in a while. If I had to go with a traditional animal theme, I'd probably go with Gorillas or Mountain Goats. But then I started going mythical and thought, why not Kraken? That's pretty badass, yeah? But then it hit me...

Owlbears. I'm done. If we ever need a team name for Nerd Pride Radio, we'll be the Nerd Pride Owlbears. So I go looking for owlbears pics, and there's a whole website devoted to convincing Cleveland to choose owlbears as their new mascot after dumping Indians. And Cleveland went with Guardians over that? Geesh, what a missed opportunity.

Honeybadgers would be a good choice.

My old high school was "Rebels" full confederate flag, little old man cin a confederate uniform was the logo...now the Logo is just HC, but I think they are still rebels... HC Honeybadgers is a good choice...until the crowd starts chanting that they don't give a a f...

Ok HC Hellraisers?....oooh... Minotaurs!!!! Yeah, that way we can use the "hook 'em" hand gestures!!!!
