The best way to celebrate teacher appreciation week? With a lockdown drill!

Huh! At our school usually they just have a substandard luncheon and some cute cards from the kids, but this is another way I suppose. The real question is, did they issue you a handgun and concealed carry permit?

They did not. They are supposed to give us lunch tomorrow though.

Well you never know, maybe the lunch will come with a goodie bag. They had better be giving y'all something after this year!

It's amazing--but not surprising--how people went from "you guys do so much, I can't imagine how you do it" in the Spring to "we don't care if you die in the Fall."

My wife's school provided a teacher appreciation meal as well. Which she said was pretty good. But then last night, the parent group also sponsored an off-site gathering where there's wine and crafts... all the teachers got to paint big signs for their rooms. They had a great time. And then a bunch of them stayed after for dinner and drinks and made a party of it. I don't know about feeling appreciated, but it was a much needed opportunity for all of them to relax and socialize in a non-school environment. They really needed that.
Any time the solution is "banjo rifle", I'm in 100%.
