Deathless
Re: Deathless
Not a banger- but still awesome! Let’s go 1982!
Re: Deathless
Today is going to be a great day!
Re: Deathless
Y’all! I fixed my refrigerator! It had a clogged defrost drain! It’s a great day!
Re: Deathless
That's awesome, Kyle! Good on you, man.
Any time the solution is "banjo rifle", I'm in 100%.
Re: Deathless
Bangers. Front to back, fucking bangers.
Re: Deathless
Yeah. Much of my musical awakening started here. This was summers at the public pool with these songs blaring over the PA.

Re: Deathless
My house didn't burn down. Hooray!
Re: Deathless
I didn't realize that was potentially on the menu, but I am still very glad it didn't happen.

Re: Deathless
Oh John Cougar.
Re: Deathless
Our first miss. That's okay, 1982- you're still pretty great!
Re: Deathless
I like some Steve Miller but this one doesn't grab me.
Re: Deathless
It's a day! A wonderful wonderful day!

Re: Deathless
Oof. I really don't like the Steve Miller Band.
Re: Deathless
There quite a few artists I liked in my youth and I thought were well regarded only to learn that lots of people including critics don't like them. Steve Miller is one. I can't separate the previous joy in Space Cowboy and Fly Like and Eagle to hear it freshly. But I can hear the annoyance in Abracadabra.
There are some I loved in my youth, dismissed as I grew up, but have returned to. Like Huey Lewis. Like The Monkeys. Hall and Oats. To a lesser degree, like The Eagles, which I feel many turned against when Big Lebowski, a fictional character, said they sucked. They are very good at what they did, though I wonder how much of it is due to them being jerks. Steve Miller has a jerk issue if I'm not mistaken.
I do wonder how much of it is simply the personal feelings you have towards an artist. An easy modern parallel is Kanye. Kanye I saw as an annoying jerk with a God complex. Then I saw Kanye as great and creative producer who makes amazingly good hip hop. Then, now, of course, is Kanye the bipolar m-a-g-a zombie. All the annoyances are back on the surface of everything I hear from him.

This link is awesome. It's a globe, you point at a spot and get a list of radio stations you can listen to. Wanna remember your home town station or listen to exotic places like Canada? Go for it.

Re: Deathless
Okay seizing control of myself briefly to state all y'all should love old Steve Miller, who is not a jerk, is he? I think people in the music industry including the Black Keys said so because they are the jerks! They can stay mad at him and I will stay flying like an eagle.
Re: Deathless
And we’re back!
Re: Deathless
Nope.
Re: Deathless
Ooh, nice running things - how's the leg and foot situation doing? Hopefully well!
The gray traces of dawn are only just now tinging the eastern sky, men of Willowdale, so yes, good morning. Standing here in my comfy loungewear, I look to the east and behold the people parked in cars in the frigid snowscape whose children are waiting to get on the bus, and I say, here is one good thing about this remote middle school. I believe in this scene I am in fact the necromancer, looking down upon them from my balcony window. Yes, that shiver you feel in the air...

Re: Deathless
The leg is healing. I can walk pretty much normally. Going up or down stairs, or standing on my tiptoes, I can feel a knot in the calf and a bit of pain, so it's not ready to start working out again just yet. But it's steadily improving.
Re: Deathless
When I tore my calf, I had a "stripe" that went halfway across it about halfway up. I could still feel it for 12-18 months after it happened. It was weird. Hope it heals fast for you, Tahlvin.
Re: Deathless
Oh snap!
Re: Deathless
No. No can do. ANOTHER BANGER!
Re: Deathless
One more from 1982 before we move on to 1983...
Re: Deathless
I'm so in love with 1982.
Re: Deathless
Here comes 1983...

Killing it so far, 1983.
Re: Deathless
Y'all. Y'all! What a feeling 1983 is giving me!
