Okay, knowing that I agree we need to finish it out.

And for what it’s worth, I don’t feel right saying that music from over 70 years ago sucked because this is all subjective, right? But I will say that it’s unlistenable for me.

Hey, I play music from 300 years ago. There's some real crap out there, regardless of what century it was written in.

I would be interested in a top 25 from 1721!

Here's a tune for you. Remember that they did not have multi-track recording and there was no stereo so they had to do it right or start all over.

I am Mando and I do not approve of this message:

Would the Brandenburg Concertos top the charts?

Probably not, actually. Today, sure, but Handel was far more popular than Bach back then. So probably Handel, Telemann and then the Bonicinni guy or whatever.

For my monthly go-back-a-year project a follower said I could probably make it to the late 1910s with a 32+ seed tourney. I wonder if after I should keep going back, maybe in decade-long spans and really up my classical knowledge.

Yeah, pre-1920, go by every 5 years, no longer based on recordings but sheet music. Though I gotta get there first, that'll be 3 years from now....

I was so excited about this and then they started singing, and I was like whaaaaaaaaaaat??!! And I wondered, is this a ukulele band?
Then they got to the end and that was quite an unexpected ending! I am glad you do not approve of the whole message! What on earth?
But this music rocks!!

Smoke is an interesting one! It's a bit both pro and anti smoking and is clear western swing (aka country instruments, R&B music)

My Mom used to sing this "at" people under her breath - particularly other drivers who were dawdling around in the road because they were paying too much attention to their cigarette, which used to be a very common thing in the era when my mom was driving me around. I did not know this song for a long time so I just thought that was her thing, lol!

Used to watch The Dinah Shore program occasionally. I remember it being more scandalous and unpredictable than today's talk on a couch shows.

We watched a lot of Dinah Shore. This was not my recollection. But maybe it seemed that way because everyone was smoking and looked… seventies. I think it was far more tame than today’s daytime interview/variety shows.

No gap, just a limit to how far back in time Billboard kept records. Which we have reached with 1946.
