It's silly, has all the hallmarks of a novelty, which it does well, it's funny but also hooky. It plays like a good bit. Comedy and call-backs. Phrasing! But that's some dang 90s remake, no thanks. 1/10

Then again there's no fake laugh track in the updated version. 9/10

Too Much Time On My Hands never noticed the Giorgio Moroder-styled synth line. Somehow this is disco, classic rock, hair metal, a tiny bit prog, and a novelty song. Like a winking Spinal Tap. Jealous of their bangs. 9/10

And offers coming over the phone? Is the dissonance between the the music, the lyrics, and the video purposeful and witty or sloppy? Hey google, could Glen Campbell ride a horse?

Update: ok Glen was in True Grit... he still looks uncomfortable riding here. Also the song's a metaphor, dissonance accepted. 9/10

Remember when we had that cigar smoking emoji? Or was that the phone? I don't know.

I remember once when I was in college, I was in a crowded restaurant lobby with a friend, waiting for a table. The lobby was clearly labeled as non-smoking, but my friend had just lit his cigarette and refused to let it go to waste, so he continued smoking it inside. The big dude in front of us made some indirect comment about it, which offended my friend (who was quite clearly in the wrong). So when the big dude turned his back to us, my friend put out the cigarette on the back of the guy's jacket (which I remember as being leather, but it was 30 years ago, so who knows). The guy never noticed, and if anyone else did, they never said a word to anyone. My buddy laughed about it all night. I was kinda horrified.

That friend was obviously a psychopath. I'm sure it's for the best that all of you broke off contact with him.
