I still don't understand the appeal of him. I guess he’s a fine singer and does this Sheeran-adjacent songs. But I just don’t get it.

Don't know this one at all, but it is just incredibly generic and feels like a committee approved pop version of something better.
But then I look up the band, and they started with some reggae dance electronic stuff (I'm not versed enough to accurately describe genres). I sampled a couple tracks off their first album in 2009, and that's good stuff. So yeah, Cold Water is what you get when you want to normalize it for mass release.

I don't know when Rihanna does her stint as a rapper on Lemon/NERD track but maybe that wasn't top twenty. She's a beauty/lingerie billionaire though so she has more important stuff to do like putting out 2x onesies and eyeshadow palettes at affordable prices and raking up $$$$.

I started in 1970, the year I was born. Once I finish with the most recent year, I'll start in 1969 and work backwards until 1942 (when my oldest parent was born), or until the list is no longer available, whichever comes first.

Have we seen / will we see any Chance the Rapper? SZA maybe? Travis Scott obviously but will here appear more than once? Is Tyler the Creator too niche to appear?
Is that it for the multi-year superstars? Lil Nas X will definitely show up but just one year for now I think... actually maybe the same for BTS and Eilish...
Maybe just Cardi B for an artist with multiple huge hits over multiple years (excluding 2021) who has yet to debut?
