At first, 24 months ago, I thought the equivalent in history was the Macarena. A huge-one hit wonder that would annoy the hell out of us forever. But I was wrong. He wasn't a one-hit-wonder. And the song is still lots of fun.

The true equivalent is the work of Elvis hitting all three charts easy. Or Lionel Richie's country/pop/R&B crossover "Stuck On You."

Or even a little song called "Chatanoogie Shoe Shine Boy" from Red Foley in 1950 that I'm a bit obsessed with.

Triple crossovers are rare and always very good/ great.

I need to write about it. It looks like no one has.

Part of my research though would need to be visiting the country music hall of fame and accessing an interview the songwriter did in which he talked about writing the song. I feel anything else would be throwing assumptions up.

1. The Swae Lee parts are the best, so smooth and emotive, still not a fan of PM's tone
2. It's pretty well written. PM deserves some credit here!
3. Is got a nice music bed. Again, PM deserves some credit.

I think it's clear. PM should only write and arrange for other artists, at least if his only goal is to make me happy.
