I refuse to accept that the Asian character in Sixteen Candles is not the unironic hero of the entire movie, so if that means we need to rewrite everything, so be it. He was my hero. I don't care.

There's a scene in Top Gun where Cruise asks out the main lead, gets shot down, and then follows her into a public restroom. That screams potential rapist.

The positive way to think of it is how much we've changed in just the last 60 years.

That is a nice way to think of it, yes. My kids are horrified by the pervasive rapeyness of pop culture of the past.

Maybe "Adult movies" has a new definition...as in if you are over 5 decades old.
