I get they are a rock band so they want to rock, but I don't think they needed the band to come in at the end. If you're going for pretty, go for pretty!
Re: Deathless
She has a good voice. I have trouble getting into the artfully overwrought (says the person who is completely obsessed with and having emotional crises over k-dramas). If I were that overwrought about something I would be face down on the cold tile floor at 3:00 a.m. I wouldn't be singing about it in a fresh blowout with dried flowers in a fancy nightgown. So it's a kind of aesthetic problem.

All the women line up and he picks his fav... good for him? Why not be braggadocios about something relatable...
Re: Deathless

You were missed. We talked about you every day.
Any time the solution is "banjo rifle", I'm in 100%.
Re: Deathless
Oh wow! Awesome! Did y'all... uh... talk in person... or something? Because I don't... I guess I just don't see that on the boards.
Re: Deathless
We went back through and deleted everything non-music related, gotta stay on topic here.

Happy throwback R&B is still thriving even through the rise of club-focused crunk. I was too busy listening to indie rock.

Remembered when I first heard that Mariah was nearing the record for most #1 hits and I was dismissive and kinda rooting against her. But my goodness it just keeps going. And except for some of her early songs, I've really enjoyed almost all of it.

Didn't know this was a divisive song. I guess it makes sense, ska darling gone rock sellout gone electronic sellout gone hip hop sellout. It's a fun little tune, and I am completely jealous that she did whatever the F she wanted and did it well!
I took a look at my 2018 project where I listened to this 10 times and reranked NPR's list of 200 Greatest songs by 21st century women, and I did knock it down a few dozen spots. But still in the mix of other solid songs that were fun but didn't blow me away.
I listed Goodies below this.

3 non-in-da-club songs so far. I feel that trend isn't over though, yeah? OK?

This is considered a little pop masterpiece, and mostly yeah, but will say, the goal was to take Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Maps" and add an explosive chorus to it, and they did, but I still so prefer "Maps"
