52. Glimpse Of Us (Joji)

Pretty song done well, but given the NSFW video and the person's past work, feel the song isn't completely sincere. Skippable, but no judgement for the people out there this truly touched. Another future wedding staple, 7/10

A sinister song that nevertheless burned me out on its millionth listen. Admire it, but mostly skip it now, 8/10

50. I Hate U (SZA)

If you wondered if I love this? I do! Love how the verses are much more conflicted, she's missing him, they had good times, it's a struggle. But I guess the chorus makes clear that all that is moot because of how he made her feel now. No getting around it. 10/10

49. Buy Dirt (Jordan Davis Featuring Luke Bryan)

A little too clean for a song about dirt. It's fine, has a decent message, though bad financial advise. I can smell a scam. Davis and Bryan's Patented All-Organic Dirt. Y'all sell bottled tap water, why not dirt? Duet-wise, do these guys have the same voice? Do aLl wHiTe gUyS sOUnd tHe sAMe 7/10

"Pesbian"? Kinda gotta admrie it for going for it that pesbian didn't get a second-look. lol, pesbian. Mixed on this, there's a bit to like, also, it's a bit Sesame Street brought to you by the letter P. Good, but, again, pesbian. 7/10

Always Toast Posties

Billboard Hot 100 Year End Chart 2022
47. Vegas (Doja Cat)

A few issues with this solid homage to Big Mama Thornton: whatever estate of Big Mama exists they get nothing from the song. Instead of interpolating and mimicking her how about sampling her? But Shonka Dukureh did a great job, and also sad she passed away soon after release. The other issue: If not Big Mama, she should have been officially featured too. Doja Cat feat. Shonka Dukureh, that's what it should be, how hard would that have been? When Jamie Foxx imitated Ray Charles for "Gold Digger" he got credit, why not one of these women? This isn't a Doja Cat solo track. 8/10

46. She Had Me At Heads Carolina (Cole Swindell)

I should probably listen to Heads Carolina at this point, given how much I really like this. I miss kereoke nights, making unexpected duets, and although this never happened to me, it's sweet, and added benefit of sounding great. Update: listened to the original by Jo Dee Messina, ok I'm retroactively a big fan of it. How can I not? 9/10

I didn't know why you were posting a picture of Post Malone and saying that was you. Had to scroll but it was still confusing. Coincidentally I had listened to a few of his songs and realized he really has a great voice, once I get past the yodeling and laughing at the yodeling, so I looked to see what he looks like. Why did he tattoo all over his face? I know that I'm unfairly anti-tattoo in a snooty way, but come on guy, he has such a nice face and pretty eyes and stuff and then there are words on it and the whole assembly doesn't even work if you liked tattoos. Buddy! Why. I fully expect my kid is going to get tattooed all over her whole body as soon as she figures out what tattoos and can afford to buy them, so I'll be punished for my snootiness about tattoos

41. Smokin Out The Window (Silk Sonic)

A left-over from last year. I really enjoyed the Silk Sonic project and hope they return to it (are they the Gnarls Barkley of the 20s?), this is good, really Marvin Gaye at times (Bruno's whooooo at 2:43), the video great (the body!), but one of the more skippable songs on their fun debut album. Also, not a fan of smoking, so it'll always have lost a point there... 7/10

Wow. Okay... well... wow.

You see this watch, Mike? This watch costs more than your car. I made $970,000 posting last year. How much you make? You see, pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing. You're a nice guy? I don't give a shit. Good father? Fuck you! Go home and play with your kids. You wanna work here? Close! You think I'm too hard on you? You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you cocksucker? If you can't take this, how can you take the abuse you get on a sit? You don't like it, leave. I can go out there tonight with the posts and nerd content you've got and make myself $15,000. Tonight! In two hours! Can you? Can YOU? Go and do likewise. A-I-D-A. Get mad you son of a bitches! Get mad! You want to know what it takes to post? It takes BRASS BALLS to post! Go and do likewise, gents. The money's out there. You pick it up, it's yours. You don't, I got no sympathy for you. You wanna go out on those sits tonight and close. CLOSE! It's yours. If not, you're gonna be shining my shoes. And you know what you'll be saying - a bunch of losers sittin' around in a bar? 'Oh yeah. I used to be a salesman. It's a tough racket.' These are the new leads. These are the RPG Pundit leads. And to you they're gold, and you don't get them. Why? Because to give them to you is just throwing them away. They're for closers. I'd wish you good luck, but you wouldn't know what to do with it if you got it.

39. Something In The Orange (Zach Bryan)

Said in June in the music thread: This is very good! So moody! Feels different, outside of all the rest of these country songs, maybe more associated with the folk singer-songwriter movement than the mainstream pop country. It's also unlike anything else on the Top 40, which might be why I like it the best.

Today: still great! 10/10

37. I Ain't Worried (OneRepublic)

Still thankful slash amazed slash worried that they credited the interpolation of "Young Folks" even though they are just cribbing their sound, and not really any particular melody. Music is 70% cribbing something you've heard elsewhere, mixing it up, and making it new. But also like how after probably the 10th person said, "hey this sounds like Young Folks" they probably gave in and gave credit. Anyways, this song is a bop and I like it probably because it reminds me of "Young Folks" 8/10
