Sentimental in all it's glory. In good and bad, in memories and in its performance. I'd have a hard time humming this on command (even tho that's how it starts and ends) but there's still a lot to like, and I ever increasingly relate to the lyrics. A song about adulthood that was probably a prom slow dance. 9/10

Boy were they into sentimentality. Well sung and fine in a Nilsson sorta way. But it's so constructed, the keyboardists and bassist and the only-occasional ace lead guitarist all have fun licks, but it's all they do, they don't move out of their comfort zones. Like the best and worst of studio musicians, you get close to perfection but you might not get much soul. But overall, joyous, fun, but like wine and the song, it's done. Key change! 9/10

I just recently heard an episode of Our Fake History where the host referred to Seasons in the Sun as one of the worst songs ever (maybe THE worst... can't remember) from a dark age of music.
