Re: Nerd Pride Radio Fitness Club
Interestingly enough, I was able to do my plyometrics workout this morning, which consists of a lot of jumping and squats. The muscle mechanics of jumping up and down do not seem to both the particular location in the calf that is injured, but running does. It's like pushing off my foot vertically ...

Re: Eliminating Student Loan Debt
I will shift quickly to a much simpler argument. Loan burdens are disproportionately on people of color population because they do not have inheritance that white people commonly have. Forgiving the loan will give a lot of people of color some considerable newfound improvements to their wellbeing, a...

But can Trump's actions fit the legal definition of incitement? And if the case isn't ironclad against him, what does that do 4-8 years from now? Are we destined to just keep litigating past Presidents? I'm personally stuck between "Do consequences for Trump merit the costs in precedent?"...

Definitely tax high frequency trading. Unclear there's a point in high frequency trading other than trying to corner the market so quickly that nobody could react easily.

Snoring. Less interruptions overnight. Own mattress, own comfort.
I get up at 4:30 AM these days, my wife goes to bed at 1 AM. Because of pandemic-induced screwy schedule. So makes sense to have own bedroom, and we get better quality sleep that way.

Re: [Puzzler] Robin & Marian
however, the problem doesn't end there -- we need to compute expectation as well, now that we have probability distribution.
Thankfully, terms cancel out nicely to get us that summation exactly.

Yep, came baxk to say you were correct in the first place after thinking overnight. When I have so many different tools, I get a bit flustered at times. I think the flaw with that the assumption is that the probability is not distributed uniformly across the distance from the center. When I say that and seeing your work, I think I have a new idea. Going to be tricky to work it out.

Re: [Puzzler] Squaring Square Squares
See, not once in the question it says you could combine. By the header of the question, you get an impression that you only can generate square from squares by cutting it. In order to get to 6, you have to make rectangles somewhere in the process, so that was what caused me to rule it out.

Re: [Puzzler] Robin & Marian
I want to recheck my assumptions, but it looks like infinite sum of k/2^k. Which is neat on own. However, that is assuming that the expectation is that the area would be halved with each shot. I am not convinced on that front. The ratio of radius is something like square root of 2. I just need to th...

I re-read. I still have no idea what the puzzler is asking.
It seems like each time you divide a square, you lose the original square, and gain 4 squares. So you have a sequence that is basically add 3 squares, no?

Actually, in Georgia, two things happened. First, helluva of community effort to make the votes happen. And second, demographic shift.
And the psychological effect of feeling like votes matter for once is huge. Do not write off Dems in Georgia in the long run...they are only getting started.
