Here's hoping that gets me off some of the calling/texting/mailing lists. I hate being in a swing state.

Re: I voted
In person absentee voting begins for us tomorrow. My wife and I will probably vote tomorrow morning, then take the college kid to vote on Friday, when he doesn't have any classes.

I watched the first season and it was so-so. Still need to start watching the second season. It's an interesting take on Tolkien lore, but it's just missing a little something, it feels like.

Re: Safety Razor
I've seen pictures where old houses used to have a slot in the wall where you could dispose of your used, dull razor blades, but there wasn't actually a container for them, they would just fall into the gap between the plaster/sheet rock of the wall. Makes remodeling old houses a bit hazardous.

Oof, that sucks. How can they mess up direct deposit? It's like 3 things: routing number, account number, and whether it's a checking or savings account. And if it works once, just repeat. Sorry you guys are going through this situation, and hope she is able to find something else quickly.

Trump was in our small Wisconsin village today, speaking at a local factory. First Republican presidential candidate to campaign here in decades. And pisses me off that he's here, spewing his hate in my town.

My uncle took me to a number of Reds games when I was little and I loved watching Rose, Bench, et al. Too bad he broke the cardinal rule of baseball and bet on it while still in the game. I personally think the lifetime ban was deserved.

Another apparent assassination attempt. Suspect is a 60 yo white male, former Trump voter with a weird social media history. And oddly timed to distract from the pet-eating nonsense. It will be interesting to see what the history of this time reads like 20, 30, 40 years in the future.

I have at least one case in my family tree of two brothers from one family marrying two sisters from another family, as well as at least one case of a brother marrying his brother's widow. But you have to go back to the 1800's or earlier to find those cases.
