RULES

- I'm going to use the Instant Game tables to come up with a basic idea and guidelines for a story that we'll write together as a group. Someone will post a paragraph to start a story. People will then post up the next paragraphs.

-Once you contribute, you need to wait until one other person contributes to the story before you post your next contribution.

-Paragraphs can be anything between one and a dozen sentences. No more than twelve. If you have a weird thing going on (one word paragraphs, or paragraphs interrupted with a snipped of internal thought before continuing) that's fine, as long as it's no more than 12 sentences (or snippets).

-Feel free to start a new chapter if you feel that there's a logical point to do so. Do not just start a new chapter because you're bored with what's being contributed. If that's the case, then wait until it gets to some sense of logical scene ending before starting a new chapter.

-If there are cross posts (posts that are written at the same time and post up together) the first one stays and the other is deleted.

-Move the story along and keep it on track.

-Cursing is okay. Nothing intentionally offensive, or with offensive ethnic slurs or stereotypes. No erotica or porn. Keep it PG-13.

-I reserve the right to delete any contribution that I find offensive, inappropriate or otherwise meriting deletion. I will normally only do this on obvious bullshit. But if there's something that's questionable, I might pause the contributions (by locking the thread) and open a new thread to discuss it and see what the community says.

-The elements listed below are canon, but obviously you don't have to incorporate everything into every contribution. Think of it as a style book for our story. There are several people listed, THEY ARE OPTIONAL. Feel free to create your own characters. But if you use a character listed below, please make a note of it in your post (which will be deleted later once I update the list below to assign the Person to the character). Also, the characters listed below can be main or side characters or the antagonist or protagonist.

-If this takes off, I will try to maintain a separate thread that contains basic information about characters/places/events

-I reserve the right to change any and all rules as I see fit as the need arises.

*Lost Technology is described as: "The power of the ancients has been rediscovered. This is a technology that existed long ago, but obviously was somehow lost and only recently has been found again. Usually, lost technology is capable of wonders that were thought no longer possible. Make two more rolls on the Tech table. Assume that the more primitive of the two results is the overall level of society, and the other is the level of the lost technology."

**Lost Tribe is described as: "The people who have been separated from the bulk of civilization for generations, and only now have they been re-discovered. Usually, they have some special powers or valuable secret that makes them extra-exploitable to the less savory elements of our world. The lost tribe can by lost pygmies in the rainforest canopy who hold the secret to immortality, or shipwrecked sailors of centuries past living in communion with intelligent dinosaurs in a bizarre Antarctic oasis of eternal spring, or 23rd century colonists lost in space and only recently returned with the secrets of alien technology."
